Tatarstan to build skiing health facility in Turkmenistan

Tatarstan is to construct a year-round sports and health skiing facility in Turkmenistan’s Avaza national tourist zone, said today the Cabinet of Ministers’s press service.

The decision was made in the course of a visit to Turkmenistan of the Tatarstan’s official delegation, led by Prime Minister Roustam Minnikhanov.

The Tatar delegation is on a two-day working trip to Turkmenistan, attending the opening of the first string of health resort facilities in the Avaza tourist zone. Foreign companies, to invest in the zone’s development, have today held presentations of new projects and proposals.

Following the ceremony, the Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov signed an instruction, allocating an 18-hectare land plot to construct a year-round fitness skiing facility. The investment project was presented by Tatarstan jointly with construction firms, including the management company KER-Holding.

According to the Aide to the Prime Minister on external economic relations Iskander Mouflikhanov, the document, allocating a plot of 18 hectares in the Avaza zone, has been forwarded to the Prime Minister Roustam Minnikhanov.
