Turnpike launched in Alabuga special economic zone

A 2,700-metre turnpike that is part of the Sh-2 motorway has today been launched in Tatarstan’s special economic zone Alabuga, said the press service.

The turnpike leads to the industrial sites including P-D Tatneft-Alabuga Fibre Glass, Polimatiz, and an industrial park under construction. The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Korea to Russia Lee Kyu Hyung, President of Tatarstan's department of foreign affairs director Timur Akulov, deputy head at the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry’s department of bioengineering technologies complex chemistry division, RosEZ special economic zones representative Vladimir Andrievsky, Alabuga Special Economic Zone’s General Director Vasily Kudryashov and others.

The construction of the zone’s infrastructure continues. As of today, 257 kilometres of utility networks, over 4 kilometres of internal motorways, nearly 5 kilometres of railway and 20 kilometres of road barriers has bee built. According to the special economic zones territorial division Chief Igor Nosov, Alabama’s first section, a territory of 10 square kilometres, is to be commissioned in 2009.
