Tatarstan delegation to visit Orenburg

The Tatar House-Museum will open in Orenburg Province as a part of the Day of the republic of Tatarstan Culture.

A dignified delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan is to visit the National Village. The delegation members include Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture Zilya Valeyeva, Chairman of the World Congress of Tatars executive committee Rinat Zakirov, Chairman of the Writers Union board Ilfak Ibrahimov and others. The head of the delegation will be Tatarstan State Council Chairman Farid Moukhametshin.

The distinguished guests will meet with Orenburg Province Governor Alexei Chernishev, lay flowers to the monument of Tatar poet Musa Jalil, attend a gala-concert of the Republic of Tatarstan masters of art at Orenburg State Drama Theatre named after Faizi, visit the memorial complex “Salut, Pobeda!” (“Salutm Victory!”). Then the official delegation will head for the National Village to attend the ceremony of opening the House-Museum of Tatar Culture, Household and Ethnography.

According to the latest data of 2002 population census, 165967 Tatars live in Orenburg Province, which makes up 7.6 percent of the province’s total population.
