Kazan Helicopters present Ansat type in-flight

26 May 2009, Tuesday
The KH deputy general for external economic relations Valery Pashko has today told Tatar-inform of the results of the plant’s participation in the HeliRussia 2nd international show.

The show took place at the end of last week in Moscow. Kazan Helicopters attended the show as part of the Russian Helicopters single display stand. The Kazan plant presented its traditional products, including the Mi-8/Mi-17, Ansat, as well as the advanced Mi-38 and Aktai.

“We showed our Ansat helicopter not just at the stand but in-flight as well. The helicopter arrived at the exhibition on 22 May. The show’s attendees were enthusiastic about the helicopter. Our other helicopter, presented at the stand, aroused interest from the participants as well. At the end of the show, we received new business proposals,” said the official.

The plant’s director for external economic relations went on to say that the company’s priority directions would continue to be production and maintenance of the Mi-8/Mi-17 types and ща their versions, as well as of the Ansat light-duty type, and advanced research on the Mi-38 and Aktai types.

Mr Pashko said the plant was to supply 80 Mi-17V-5 helicopters to India. “A contract has been signed, and next year we will begin to supply the helicopters to India,” he said.

The aerial-delivery Mi-17V-5 is an advanced version of the Mi-8MT types, designed for military use. It was developed as an improved version of the Mi-8 family, designed by the Moscow Helicopter Plant’s design bureau with immediate participation of the Kazan Helicopter Plant.
