MMK is interested in joint venture with Kamaz

Russia's Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works is interested in setting up a joint venture with Kamaz following a visit to the company's main plant by a MMK delegation led by board chairman Mr Viktor Rashnikov on Friday, reported Steel Guru with reference to Interfax.

The press service quoted Mr Rashnikov as saying that "Today, our economy is experiencing some difficult times, therefore we have discussed issues related to current plans and strategic areas with Kamaz leadership. If the need arises, MMK could increase the volume and assortment of supplies for Kamaz. We have a desire to set up a joint venture in Naberezhniye Chelny to process our metal and to also prepare metals and metal products for the company's plants."

The delegation also visited its consignment metals warehouse for the needs of the Kama region as well as the production facilities of the future MMK metals service center in Naberezhnye Chelny.
