16 May 2009, Saturday
A delegation from the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel company, led by the board of directors Viktor Rashnikov, has toured the premises of the auto maker Kamaz, reports the company’s press service.

Before visiting Kamaz, the guests inspected their consignment metal storage facility for the Transkama region, and saw the production site for a future metal centre in Tatarstan’s Naberezhnye Chelny. At Kamaz, the metal-makers viewed an auto equipment display and inspected the auto making and frame-moulding plants. Later, they held negotiations with the Kamaz General Director Sergei Kogogin and other top managers.

Mr Rashnikov said the following about the purpose of the visit to Kamaz: “Today, our economy is going through difficult times, that is why we have discussed with the Kamaz management both current and strategic issues. If necessary, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel company could increase the volumes and range of supplies for Kamaz. We are willing to set up a joint venture in Naberezhnye Chelny, to process our metal and to prepare finished metal and metal products for the company’s plants. Overall, we are building good relations with Kamaz, that besides have long traditions. I would like to wish Kamaz to manufacture as many autos as possible. The auto plant features an impressive line of trucks, a long range of serially produced cars. It has things to manufacture and sell; therefore, we have a place to deliver metal to.”
