A delegation of the Russian Federation Ministry of Industry and Trade headed by the Minister Viktor Khristenko visited OAO KAPO named after Gorbunov on March 31. Viktor Khristenko examined a short range aircraft TU-334 and TU-214. Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied the delegation.

Russian Minister of Industry and Trade shared his impressions about the visit with journalists. “TU-334 aircraft for sure has future, because the machine has been certified already,” he said. From the minister’s point of view, the future of this aircraft depends on delivery orders. “Presence of firm delivery orders for this machine is the main key to solving issues, including the problem of organizing credit support for this model production.”

Answering a question concerning assistance with orders, the Russian Federation Minister of Industry and Trade indicated that the question must be addressed to Russian Industry and Trade Ministry, not the Government, but directly to Kazan Aircraft Production Association (KAPO) and the United Aircraft Corporation. “Promoting production in the market is their primary task,” he said.

What concerns the opportunity of public purchases for special purpose, the enterprise is fulfilling the order for several TU-214 aircrafts for the Russian Federation President Apparatus.
