Tatarstan Industry and Trade Minister to meet with Chinese delegation

The Tatarstan Industry and Trade Minister Ravil Zaripov will on Wednesday meet with the delegation from China’s Shandong province, led by the mayor of Liaocheng Song Yuanfang. The parties are to exchange information and to discuss possible areas for cooperation, said the ministry’s press service.

Later in the day, direct meetings between Tatarstan companies and businessmen from the Shandong province will take place at the ministry’s premises. The ministry is to present to the guests the Tatarstan’s industrial potential and the special economic zone Alabuga.

Liaocheng is a city in the north of China, located in the western province of Shandong, that includes part of the coast. It has well-developed economy and vast resources. The city’s total space is 8.715 square metres, and it is home for 5.76 million people.

Liaocheng has a strong industrial base. The major industry branches are auto making, machine building, aluminum and copper manufacturing and processing, textiles, energy, pulp and paper, medical industry, chemical industry, and agriculture processing. The city is a transportation hub and the North China’s key logistical terminal, as well as a base for the rapidly progressing tourism and service sectors. In 2006, a technology park was launched in Liaocheng.
