Tatarstan to become pilot region to hold electronic bidding for federal order

23 April 2009, Thursday
At the All-Russian Forum for small and middle businesses in Moscow on April 22, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that a pilot project of organizing e-auctions for placing state orders would be realized in May. Tatarstan will become one of the three regions where such auctions will be held.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov gave an interview to Vesti 24 channel after the forum. He told about preparation of the republic for the bid and which enterprises can participate in the auctions.

“We have created such a portal already; there is experience of working electronic bids format. When this issue was raised in the Russian Federation, we considered opportunities to make Tatarstan one of such regions. Let’s take, for instance, realization of the law on reforming the housing and communal services complex: huge funds are allocated for complete overhaul of housing; all purchases for realization of the program take place at this e-portal. Moreover, we believe we shouldn’t limit ourselves only to municipal, republican, federal orders, but also to attract companies to this field. It is a correct decision which allows avoiding corruption and gives entrepreneur a chance to provide production for the needs of the state and municipalities,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
