Rustam Minnikhanov: The task of Tatarstan and Saxony is to draw businesses together

The head of the Tatarstan Government, Rustam Minnikhanov, met with the Prime Minister of the Free State of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich, at the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers on April 23.

Tatarstan Premier’s aide for foreign economic work Iskander Muflikhanov said after the meeting that the talks were focused on cooperation in economy and culture.

The delegation of the Free State of Saxony headed by Stanislaw Tillich arrived in Kazan on April 22. The programme of the delegation’s visit to Tatarstan includes familiarization with some large industrial enterprises of the republic, participation in Tatarstan-Saxony Business Forum.

At the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov briefly told Stanislaw Tillich about Tatarstan’s achievements in economy, told about prospective projects, made short reports about the enterprises the Saxony delegation is visiting today – KAMAZ truck plant and the special economic zone Alabuga. Laying the foundation stone of the Tatarstan-German joint venture Price-Daimler-Tatneft-Alabuga-Fibreglass took place in July 2008 in SEZ Alabuga.

“The task of Tatarstan and Saxony at present is to draw our businesses together. Cultural contacts, collaboration in education, science and sport will be established as a result,” Tatarstan Premier stated. He invited Stanislaw Tillich to the opening ceremony of the Universiade-2013 in Kazan.

The Prime Minister of the Free State of Saxony invited the head of Tatarstan Government to attend the World Football Championship among women in Dresden in 2011, the press-service of Tatarstan Cabinet informs.
