CRDF and Tatarstan’s VIF sign memorandum of understanding

The US-based Civilian Research and Development Foundation and Tatarstan’s Venture Investment Fund have today signed a memorandum of understanding within the 4th Venture Fair in Kazan.

The document was signed by the CRDF’s President Cathy Campbell and VIF’s Director Inur Ideldinov.

The parties are to implement joint efforts, aimed to support education at small and medium technology companies, establish contacts between US and Tatarstan’s business and investment communities, and to strengthen cooperation between the US and Russia in general.

Three companies, participating in the 4th venture fair, that undergo competitive selection, are to receive $10,000 grants, to travel to the US, take training, and to arrange presentations of their projects for potential investors.

The VIF’s board of trustees approved allocating grants for a trip to the US.

On 22-24 April, CDRF and VIF held a workshop on information technology business development. The purpose of the workshop was to provide expertise, related to innovative business and building effective models of technology commercialisation, for Tatarstan’s innovative entities, reports the Cabinet of Ministers’s press service.
