Tatarstan receives 4.71 bln rubles for realization of housing complete overhaul program

A supplement agreement to the agreement from April 15, 2008 between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Fund for assistance to reforming housing and communal services has been signed today at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the supplement agreement, the republic will receive 4.71 billion rubles for complete overhaul of multistory apartment houses on the territory of the republic in 2009 from the Fund.

The Republic of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and Director General of the state-run corporation “The Fund for assistance to reforming housing and communal services” Konstantin Tsitsin signed the document.

The volume of financing the program of the Republic of Tatarstan apartment houses complete overhaul totals 9.7 billion rubles. This includes: 4.71 bln rubles – from the Fund capital, 3.45 rubles – from the republican budget, 1.1 bln rubles – from local budgets, 486 mln rubles – money of owners. It is planned to carry out complete overhaul of 2 thousand 344 multistory apartment houses with total area of 7.9 million square meters.

After the ceremony of signing the document, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Government Dmitry Kozak, who is on a working visit in Kazan today, told journalists that the program of Tatarstan housing fund complete overhaul in 2009 is the largest among Russian regions.

Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized that the large-scale program of housing complete overhaul is of much social importance – people are improving their living conditions thanks to the program. At the same time the program is one of crisis-management measures – it creates many job places in construction industry.
