President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov received the leader of the KAMAZ-master team, Semyon Yakubov, in Ashkhabad on February 10.

The head of the Turkmen state warmly congratulated the KAMAZ-master team and its captain on a victory in an off-road rally Dakar-2009 for the first time held in South America. Then Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and Semyon Yakubov discussed issues of preparation for the auto rally on Kazan-Ashkhabad route nicknamed the Silk Road.

It was the Turkmen President who offered to carry out a road rally in September on the territory of three friendly states - Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. This idea was endorsed by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Kazakhstan leader Nursultan Nazarbaev.

It is planned to be 4.5 thousand kilometers long and will run across Central Russia and South Ural, Kazakhstan steppes and the Kara Kum in Turkmenistan. According to the forecast, about a hundred automobiles will take part in the rally half of them being trucks.
