Davos forum’s founder to visit Tatarstan in June

The World Economic Forum’s founder Klaus Schwab will in June 2009 visit the Tatarstan’s capital Kazan. The Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roustam Minnikhanov and Klaus Schwab agreed on it at a meeting on 28 January in Davos.

Roustam Minnikhanov is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos as a member of the Russian delegation.

The meeting between the Tatar premier and Klaus Schwab was held on the latter’s initiative. Attendee at the meeting was the oil producer’s Tatneft’s CEO Shafgat Takhautdinov, reports the Tatarstan cabinet of ministers’s press service.

According to the aide to the Tatarstan prime minister on external economic affairs Iskander Muflikhanov, Klaus Schwab expressed willingness to visit Tatarstan in June and to see the Tatar folk festival Sabantui.

Mr Schwab’s previous visit to Tatarstan was on 12-13 September last year.
