Asgat Safarov met with German Internal Affairs Ministry representatives

Tatarstan Minister of Internal Affairs Asgat Safarov met with a delegation of Germany’s federal Internal Affairs Ministry.

The following officials took part in the meeting: Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oleg Stepuschenko, chief of Russia’s Muftis Council International Department Rushan khazrat Abbyasov, chief of the Department for European and International Development of Germany’s Internal Affairs Ministry Markus Kerber, chief of GII Department for Religious Issues and International Development Mihael Freze, official representative of Germany’s federal police in the Russian Federation Markus Heinke.

The head of Tatarstan Ministry of Internal Affairs pointed out that "today we cooperate with colleagues from foreign countries, learn and use their experience, share our knowledge". The minister said that German Ministry of Internal Affairs for us is an example in training well-qualified police staff. Asgat Safarov had an opportunity to receive evidence of it during his visit of a police school in Munster in June 2007.

Issues of cooperation and experience exchange on counteraction to Islamic extremism were discussed at the meeting.
