Belarus wants to take part in construction of Universiade-2013 sites

An inter-government protocol on measures on cooperation development in 2009-2010 was signed on January 21 in Minsk between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia).

Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky signed the document.

The document was signed as a part of the two-day working trip of the Republic of Tatarstan delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov to Belarus. On January 21 the delegation was in Gomel city. Later that day they headed for Belarussian capital - Minsk.

Tatarstan representatives got acquainted with a number machine building enterprises of Belorussian - RUP "Minsk Tractor Plant" and RUI "Minsk Car Plant".

The ceremony of signing the inter-government protocol for cooperation development took place at the Republic of Belarus Government House.

Sergei Sidorsky said that both Tatarstan and Belarus have preserved powerful petrochemical complex. "We do a lot to carry petrochemical production both from Tatarstan to Belarus and from Belarus to Tatarstan. These included rubber, metal cord and other products," S. Sidorsky said. OAO Tatneft proposals on extending the company’s presence in Belarus were considered.

Besides, Sergei Sidorsky suggested discussing the issue of Belarussian enterprises’ participation in preparation for the 27th World Summer Universiade of 2013 in Kazan.

Tatarstan Prime Minister’s aide for foreign economic work Iskander Muflikhanov informed that Tatarstan delegation is to visit some modern sport facilities in Minsk - cycle track, football manege, stadium.
