Academy of Culture and Arts reorganized into university

On November 26, Kazan State University of Culture and Arts had its presentation at the Tatar State Academic Theatre. For 33 years the university has come a long way – from a branch of the Leningrad University of Culture and Arts to the highest university status.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev came to congratulate faculty members and students on the memorable reorganization. He marked that this is an important event in the cultural life of the republic. For the past years the University has prepared more than 11 thousand specialists in the fields not dealt with by other schools. M.Shaimiev wished the doors of this educational institution were always opened for talented youth. Concluding his wishes, M.Shaimiev delivered a gift from the Tatarstan Government – an audio studio.
