On November 23, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with women-mothers. The meeting was dated to the Mother’s Day celebrated in Russia for the fifth time.

35 women-guardian and foster mothers from Kazan and regions were invited to the meeting. Many of them bring up together with their own children 2-4 adopted children. Today almost 6 thousand orphans live in ward or foster homes.

The women shared their problems with the President, the most acute is the problem of housing: most families with many children have no normal living conditions. Speaking about the problem of these children entering universities, the RT President said that they have to be provided with the opportunity to enter the free-of-charge departments of universities and promised that the issue will be submitted for consideration of the RT State Council.
