Tatarstan President in Moscow

On November 20, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev took pat in the session of the Supreme council of the All-Russia party "Unity and Fatherland - United Russia". The council elected fourth co-chairman of the party - Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia B.Gryzlov, who earlier was a member of the Supreme council.

The council also took a decision to create the bureau of the Supreme council, consisting of co-chairmen B.Gryzlov, Emergency Minister Sergei Shojgu, Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov and Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev.

In Moscow, M.Shaimiev carried out several working meetings concerning the issues of the republican interest. At the meeting with RF Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov they discussed how to increase the number of state orders at the enterprises of Tatarstan defense complex, opportunities of regular officers training in the system of civil high schools in view of reforming the Russian army.

In the evening of November 21, the President of Tatarstan participated in a session of the Presidium of the RF State Council. During the discussion of the Federal Law "On general principles of organization of legislative (representative) and executive authorities of the Russian Federation" M.Shaimiev stated his fundamental position on certain provisions of the bill, which, in his opinion, still limit the powers of subjects of the Federation, and quite often contradict the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
