M.Shaimiev expressed bewilderment concerning M.Rakhimov's statement

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev expressed bewilderment concerning the idea of Bashkortostan President Murtaza Rakhimov on abolition of the post of president in the republic.
Suggestions of Murtaza Rakhimov on change of the governance structure in the republic cause more questions than answers, and not only with me, M.Shaimiev told the Interfax on Thursday. In his opinion, the argumentation presented by the Bashkortostan leader "looks rather inconsistent".
"Nevertheless, whatever the motives of such statements were, in this case I can only say it's good that they does not come from the President of Tatarstan", M.Shaimiev said.

On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
