President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met General Consul of Turkey in Kazan

On October 22, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev received in his residence General Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Ismail Sefa Yujeer.

Mr. Yujeer started his work as General Consul on October 1. Until then he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, as vice-consul of the Embassy in Los Angeles (USA), secretary of Embassy in Teheran (Iran) and councillor of the embassy in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

During the meeting, the parties discussed methods of decision-making, in particular, expansion of bilateral trade, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation, the arrangements achieved during the meeting of the President of Turkey Ahmet Hejet Sezer and President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held on October 4 in Ankara. In opinion of Consul General, Tatarstan and Turkey have good projects in the field of construction, they are ready to share experience on small and medium business. Turkey is interested in purchase of the products of Tatarstan petrochemistry. Oil deliveries from Tatarstan to Turkey will start in the near future. We believe, Mr.Yujeer said, that relations of Turkey with Tatarstan will serve as a bridge in the development of relations with the Russian Federation.
