On March 28, Kazan was visited by Commander-in-chief of the Russian Air Forces general - colonel Vladimir Mikhailov. The visit is intended for examining the Kazan aviation enterprises and discussing prospects of their cooperation with the Russian Defense Ministry.

Vladimir Mikhailov "visited Kazan Aviation Production Enterprise and Kazan Helicopter Factory. In the evening he had a meeting with RT President Mintimer Shaimiev in the Kremlin residence. The meeting with participation of RT Vice-premier Sergei Kogogin passed behind the closed doors. They considered the present condition and prospects for development of the aviation branch. The commander-in-chief thanked the Tatarstan President for his substantial efforts to keep its high level. His visit to the Kazan airenterprises proved that this branch of the Tatarstan economy is on the path of sustainable development both in creation of new technic samples and modernization, said Vladimir Mikhailov.

The total amount of the order from the Russian Ministry of Defence is ten times more than last year. This order is very important for us, as it allows the enterprise to renew its traditional activities - manufacture, repair and modernization of military engineering, said S.Kogogin. This is the first - after 18-years - visit of such a level, and we hope that it will give a necessary impetus to cooperation of the Kazan airbuilders with the Russian Air Forces.
