Tatarstan President meeting women of Tatarstan and Tatar Diaspora

The best women of Tatarstan and Tatar Diaspora were met with flowers and songs on March 6 in the Big Concert Hall of Kazan. They were invited to the traditional meeting with President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev devoted to the International women's day.

The concert prepared by talented children - winners of Russian and international competitions was accompanied by touching stories of women's destinies - so different, uneasy and at the same time united by a mission of mother, hearth-keeper.

The winners of the annual competition "Woman of the Year" and "Man of the Year. Women's view" were named. Madina Garayeva and Lyudmila Pankratove were awarded in a nomination "My family - my world". During the WWII Madina Garayeva was machine gunner, in peace time she brought up eight children. Pediatrician Lyudmila Pankratova adopted two boys and a girl to her own two daughters.

We can not but admire our women, President Mintimer Shaimiev said, handing the diplomas. In his congratulation, the President called women particles of his soul, his hope for preservation and revival of the spirituality of the people. Special words of gratitude were addressed to the guests from regions of Russia who were invited to this Tatarstan holiday for the first time.

Also participating in the meeting were Chairman of the RT State Council F.Mukhametshin, spouse of the RT President Sakina Shaimieva, spouse of the US Ambassador in Moscow Lisa Vershbow.
