Session of Constitutional commission

January 29, the session of RT Constitutional commission, which considered the project of new edition of the Constitution of Republic Tatarstan took place.

As a result of scrupulous work by the working group of the Constitutional commission, consultations and uneasy conciliation procedures with federal power bodies and agreements at the top-level with the President of Russia it was possible to develop the coordinated variant of the project of the Constitution, submitted for consideration, told Mintimer Shaimiev, chairman of the Constitutional commission, President of Tatarstan.

The president has especially emphasized a historical role of the current Constitution of Tatarstan to which it is necessary to make changes: in hard for all country times when there is an uttermost uncertainty. Based on the Declaration on Sovereignty of Tatarstan, it has provided stability in our republic. Today much has changed, many articles of the basic Law became outdated. Their changes are demanded by a hard process of becoming a uniform federative state.

It is necessary to give due to self-control of heads of Tatarstan, which in every possible way were pushed to the prompt revision of the organic Law of republic. Only after resolution made by the Constitutional court of Russia, which as known, took place last week, consideration of thoroughly verified project began in RT Constitutional commission. Having passed its hearth, elaborated project is to be submitted for discussion to people's deputies of all levels and finally must be accepted by RT State Council.

"I do not exclude, that separate articles of the Constitution may be put for referendum, - told M.Shajmiev, it is our right".
