12 November 2001, Monday
On Saturday evening, leaders of the future chief centrist party - Sergei Shoigu, Yury Luzhkov and Mintimer Shaimiev came to the Kremlin. After the conversation with Vladimir Putin they told the precise name of the organization headed by them - "All-Russian party "Unity and Fatherland".

Mintimer Shaimiev expressed hope that the new party will be "attractive for our people", able "to influence minds of people" better than the CPRF and "able to nominate candidates for presidency and other authorities". Together with Vladimir Putin they discussed that during the new stage of party formation it is necessary to avoid the mistakes made while creating "Unity" and "Fatherland". One of the main mistakes may be considered already corrected - the new party have enough time to prepare for the next parliamentary elections.

Analysts already speak about strengthening the republican lobby in the next deputy staff.
