Through dialogue of civilizations

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev has received the invitation to take part in session of General Assembly of the United Nations which is take place in New York, December 3-4, 2001.

Personal representative of the Secretary - General for the UN Year of dialogue among civilizations Jeandomenico Picco having passed the invitation during a meeting with Mintimer Shaimiev on August 6, in the Kazan Kremlin, noted, that Tatarstan has such experience which may be applied in other countries of the world. The achieved harmony in Tatarstan - a positive example not only for Russia. I search for the answer, admitted Geandomenico Picco as how ideas of peace through dialogue of civilizations to introduce not only in power structures but to deliver this message up to common people. One action may be more convincing than hundreds of speeches. If everybody will understand necessity of dialogue, and we shall start it already today we would finish it one day earlier though it is required for it one thousand years.

Mintimer Shaimiev , has agreed, what not so simply to find answers to these questions, but that this way to rise is necessary, does not cause doubts. New century should be marked by creation, instead of conflicts and human victims. A human being should live in comfort. The main thing, in a policy is impossible to avoid global conflicts. This is first. Second, it is necessary to work over the settlement of internal conflicts.

The president noted, that all told from a tribune of General Assembly of the United Nations should bring result. Tatarstan will generalize its experience and will present the point of view on idea of dialogue among civilizations. I am sure, told Mintimer Shaimiev, that your idea is not fantastic, it has ripened . We cannot take power with other ideas.

In the meeting took part RT deputy prime Minister Zilya Valeyeva, RT State Council vice-Chairman Alexey Demidov, Director of Department for foreign relations to RT President Timur Akoulov, State advisor to RT President on political issues Rafael Khakimov , adviser of information Centre of the United Nations in Moscow Vladimir Pavinsky and others.
