Modern sports - leisure centre in Kazan

Construction of modern sports- leisure centre soon will start in territory of former airport " Kazan - 2 ". This was discussed at the meeting held on August 8 in the Kazan Kremlin under presidency of the RT President Mintimer Shaimiev.

As noted head of the Republic, lately the capital of republic has appreciably changed. The program of liquidation of outdated habitation enables to realize a qualitative construction. But it is important not only to build new buildings and to restore the objects having architectural and a historical value. Today in Kazan, and on all republic there is a set of the constructions built in "stagnant" times which are not maintained to the full. For youth even in capital of Tatarstan there is not enough places of rest. And platforms for mass walkings are located so inconveniently, that while holding the events the work of municipal transportation is broken and the holiday turns to a continuous problem. As RT President emphasized, it is necessary for heads of city and region administrations of the Republic to analyse a situation and to determine how it is possible to use available buildings more rationally.

In this sense the territory of the old airport - simply a find. The area in 332 hectares is practically in city centre, besides all traffic intersections are close located.

According to Mintimer Shaimiev, this place should become something like national park. The project even carries the name "President - park". In structure of a complex there will be a hippodrome, park of entertainment, sports park with traditional and extreme kinds of sports, five-stars hotel.
