Tatarstan and Bashkortostan deepen integration

July, 20 Kazan Kremlin, during a meeting of the President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and the prime Minister of Bashkortostan Rafael Baidavletov the questions of cooperation between the two republics were discussed. The parties have developed a number of documents.

The first agreement concerns setting up coordination commission on energy. Two large energy systems of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan are self-sufficient. Power engineering specialists of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan are capable to work in common and irrespective of other regions and even from RAO " UES of Russia ".

Mintimer Shaimiev, and Rafael Baidavletov came to the intermediate decision regarding the agreement on the further increase of a level of the Nizhnekamsk water basin. However, this question yet not once should be discussed with attraction of the experts.

The Protocol of intentions stipulates foundation of holding on production of mineral fertilizers. The parties have characterized as a "inexcusable" the situation when in both republics there are plants on production of mineral fertilizers, but frequently the same product is delivered from other regions.

One more issue - joint development of Bashkortostan mines - caught the interest of the President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev. The joint venture on processing facing stones in the near future is to be set up, and also joint development of deposits will start.

The parties have discussed condition on coproducing city, and later suburban buses. Today at the Neftekamsk plant, production of buses on the base of KamAZ chassis has started. Participation of the parties in production of buses today looks, as 50 & 50. They plan to produce one thousand buses per year.

Two agreements on cooperation and two protocols on intentions were signed the same day by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnekhanov and the Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Rafarl Baidavletov.

The agreement between the Governments of Tatartsan and Bashkortostan on cooperation in the field of electric power industry provides interaction of "Tatenergo" and "Bashorenergo" in development of a uniform tariff policy. Two these organizations may unite the efforts in solving the problems on license payment for RAO " UES. The decision on creation of analytical -coordination council on issues of power also was adopted.

One more agreement between the Ministry of natural resources of the Russian Federation, Governments of RB, RT and the Udmurt Republic will provide a uniform policy of a mode of operation of the Nizhnekamsk water basin.

Among the signed reports on intentions - on delivery of buses NEFAZ to Tatarstan, and on cooperation in production and trading mineral fertilizers, joint development of deposits of nonmetallic materials.

These documents will form a basis for signing the Agreement on further cooperation in the field of economy by Presidents of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan during their expected meeting in August of this year
