Oil industry needs unity

The ways for development of the oil industry were discussed on July 2 in Yelabuga. President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting with leaders of oil companies and heads of administrations of Tatarstan oil districts.

The results of the first half-year, according to Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, show positive tendencies. The total production amounted to 13,5 million tons - 103 % of the planned. Tatneft did the greatest contribution - 12,2 million tons. According to expert estimates, if this dynamic proceeds, annual oil output may reach 30 million tons. Much depends on successful activity of the drilling division, which, according to the first half-year results, increases the rates of production. "Tatneft-Drilling" drilled 367 wells, including 232 - for Tatneft, exceeding the planned mark by 10,8%.

Now, as never before, we need unity among the companies of the republic acting on the Russian oil market - Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized. Today oil market is very aggressive, and if we do not coordinate our actions, we shall be ousted from this market, the President said.
