Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is one of twenty leading politicians of Russia; he has lifted from 25 to 17 place. Experts of public opinion service "VP-T" conducted this analysis.
Mintimer Shaimiev is called " a long-liver of Political Olympus", and the experts connect his impressive victory at the elections with this fact. But even this fact is insufficient to be one of twenty leading politicians of Russia. From the beginning of the year Russia's attention is absorbed on the Concept on delimitation of authorities between center and regions, that is worked out under direction of the President of Tatarstan. Shaimiev's approach is to accept frame federal law, giving freedom to regions found support of serious politicians and citizens of Russia.

On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
