On behalf of "not new, but newly-elect" Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev has greeted Russian and Tatarstan journalists at the press-conference, held in the Kazan Kremlin on the following day after elections of the President of Tatarstan - March 26.

He admitted, that he expected the lower result, but it is not easy for him, even more difficult. Newly elect President has thanked all voters and promised to do everything to prove their confidence.

The passed elections proved that elections could be clean and honest. Tatarstan has managed again to make its presence felt to the world. Especially it is important after the charges advanced against the Republic. It was a matter of principle: to show an example of honest elections. It was a success. First deputy of the chairman of the RF Central Election Committee Valentine Vlasov has confirmed it. He informed that on March no reports about breaches were registered in the RT Central Election Committee, or in the courts. Moreover, the observers of elections, in most cases were delighted with transparent organization of elections and the mood of voters - " we have never seen such elections ".

Reflecting on the voting results Mintimer Shaimiev concluded that KPRF in a present shape, with "Zyuganov's deadlock philosophy", has no future. On the example of Tatarstan it publicly came to grief with the active participation of its representatives. I am respectful to all Tatarstan citizens, not depending on their views, said the Head of the Republic, but I consider, that is necessary to free them from such a dead-end philosophy, with only one slogan - " Down with the authority! "

The past elections also discovered such a relevant aspect as- the confidence was showed not only to the present President, but also to the authority as a whole. It is very important. The price of such confidence is high; it is not given easily. It is impossible to relax - the more confidence we have, the more we should take care of it. I shall do everything for the present authority in Tatarstan realized: people elected it, and the authority must remember it, - underlined Mintimer Shaimiev, the necessary steps will be done, for saving the confidence between the authority and people.

Mintimer Shaimiev informed the journalists, that he promised his wife Sakina Hanum, "Not to go for the fourth term of office at any circumstances ", and he will plan his work as the President who is not going on the following term. His main purpose is to make all Republican politicians and businessmen " work with great diligence". He sees his task in maintaining a creative activity of all structures. This will distinguish the future work of the President, stated Mintimer Shaimiev. He doesn't exclude that it will be even more effective period of the usage of presidential power.

Commenting on the statement of one periodical that "Mintimer Shaimiev of third issue will be corrected and supplemented and even different from the two previous", Mintimer Shaimiev said: of course, the President elected on the third term, can not copy the President, who had worked for the previous two terms, especially, when he does not think to be elected any more. It makes the difference. I have declared about further liberalization of Tatarstan economy and support of business. These measures due to happen, they are not the pre-election directives. It is possible to see some new sides of our work on this background.

Concerning the issue of any preliminary arrangements with the RF President on the matter of election, Mintimer Shaimiev answered: to tell, that Vladimir Putin would not like to see me as the President of Tatarstan, means to be dishonest. The president of Russia sees the factor of stability in the present President of Tatarstan and his team. We understand each other completely, but it does not mean that we can't have our own well reasoned position, especially, when it concerns not only Tatarstan, but the whole Russian Federation. Ahead a long way on RussiaІs state structuring and I think that a distinct voice of Tatarstan will always be in demand, assured Mintimer Shaimiev .

The weakening of state interference can be expected only in economy. In other spheres - the authority is dictatorship, established on the elections by absolute majority of voices with a free will of citizens. This very power will be used with purpose to defend the democratic principles, and human rights.

The build up " of normal relations " with federal center will be proceeded, marked Mintimer Shaimiev. The problems of center and regions - should not be separated from each other, they should be unified in strategic and state matters. If any difficulties appear, Tatarstan will have its own position supporting both Tatarstan and Russia.

Concerning probable changes in the Government and Office of the RT President Mintimer Shaimiev said, that he trusts this team and doesn't predict great changes, though the President will take advantage of his constitutional right to form a cabinet. According to Mintimer Shaimiev the reforming of Republican legislative power- the RT State Council, is expected only after end of the term of the present parliament's work.
