Kazanorgsintez has a great future

OAO Kazanorgsintez can serve as a bright example of performing the conditions of a collective agreement. This appraisal was given by RT President Mintimer Shaimiev at a conference of Kazanorgsintez labour collective held on March 1. Before the conference Mintimer Shaimiev had visited the enterprise.

According to director general of association Nail Yusupov, the industrial output in 2000 made 6,528 mn rubles, or 102,6% of the schedule. The enterprise has mastered 21 new kinds of products and received 8 patents for inventions.

The enterprise has no debts to the budget and non-budgetary funds.

In conditions of competition for Russian and foreign polyethylene markets, Kazanorgsintez has to maintain its raw base, Mintimer Shaimiev noted. In the near future, the republican Cabinet will consider the opportunity of supplies of raw materials to Kazanorgsintez, having regard to the resources of the petrochemical complex of the republic, integration with regions of Russia, in particular Bashkortostan.

M.Shaimiev expressed concern with respect to high deterioration of the enterprise's fixed assets. The Tatarstan's petrochemical complex faces the task of upgrading its capacities. Ethylene production in Tatarstan should increase 1,5 times and reach 1mn 300 tons. Much depends on cooperation with Gazprom. According to the RT President, prospect for co-production of linear polythylene is to be discussed during the meeting with Rem Vyakhirev planned for March. High technologies should be introduced in oil production as well. Oil production in the republic should reach 30 mn tons.
