Tatarstan President placed "landmarks" between Tatneft and Nizhnekamskneftekhim

In 2001, the transformation of OAO Tatneft into a vertically-integrated company is to be completed. At the conference of the company's labor collective, with participation of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, the summary data on the production of all enterprises of the holding, including Nizhnekamskshina, Nizhnekamsktekhuglerod etc. were presented for the first time.

Mintimer Shaimiev answered journalists' question whether Tatneft has any limits in these intentions. I would not place such limits, he said. Tatneft has large opportunities for expansion of its sphere of influence. Its highly qualified team can do much. For one year the company forced its activity on integration of petrochemistry, it purchases shares of enterprises, invests in the construction of an oil refinery, is engaged in related business, the President noted.

But nevertheless the President named one restriction for Tataneft's activity. He especially emphasized that Nizhnekamskneftekhim should reserve its rights, since it is a city-budget forming enterprise. The joint business with Tatneft on several projects should be developed further.
