Tense year for refinery builders

Construction and commissioning of a base complex of the Nizhnekamsk refinery as well as prospect for its development were discussed on February 19 at a working meeting with participation of RT President Mintimer Shaimiev.

Commissioning of this major industrial object in 2001 will allow to produce up to 7 million tons of diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and high-quality bitumen per year. This is the task set by the President and Republican Government to the refinery's administration, building organizations and investors.

The administration plans a tense program for the year: to put into operation a tar viscosity breaker, vacuum block, vacuum gasoil park, average distillate hydrotreater and bitumen installation.

As regards further development of the oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk, director general of the refinery Kh.Bagmanov informed that Foster Wheeler France had been chosen a consulting firm to manage the project.

It is also planned to prepare a building site for the complex of deep oil-processing, choose the licensors and start base designing. Tatneft will finance the project to maintain continuous work in the sphere of oil processing.

Mintimer Shaimiev said that, despite some problems connected with insufficient rate of constructing and mounting, the builders and customer had in general performed their task.
