Italian projects in Tatarstan

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Giorgio Ponzi, a director general of the Italian firm "Agrotecnica srl", delivering agricultural machines to the republic.

Mr.Ponzi had a number of specific offers. Taking into account rapid rates of house-building and construction activities in the republic and its capital, he offered to organize the production of coated tile in Kazan. The Italians are ready to participate in restoration of the republican pig-breeding farms and reconstruct local tanneries to produce high-quality leather. These projects have already been realized in Bashkortostan. In opinion of the Italian party, the joint efforts of the two neighboring republics could result in cost saving and more efficient problem solving.

Mintimer Shaimiev noted that the growth of Tatarstan's economy, industrial acceleration, debt payments allow to begin implementing the new projects.
