Tatarstan ships for Caspian Fleet

On February 7, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev and delegation of the RF Navy led by Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov visited the Zelenodolsk Shipyard, examined the defense objects and industrial capacities to perform the orders by the Russian Defense Ministry. Various ship modifications for the Caspian Fleet are to be built here.

Today the ship-builders are ready to offer the Naval Fleet a sentry ship "Gepard (Cheetah)" developed by the Zelenodols design bureau. The vessel has a high technical potential, and serves as a base for various warship modifications. It carries out military missions with underwater and surface targets. The shipyard has developed a strong scientific base, applying new technologies. According to Kuroyedov, in March the shipyard will proceed building ships for the Caspian Fleet, and a new ship will be started here next year. If we begin the century with a new ship, we are the great sea country, the Commander -in-Chief emphasized.
