The legislative base of forthcoming elections updated

December 18-19 the peopleІs deputies had worked over the modifications and additions to the RT law " On elections of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan ". The draft law has received 68 amendments, the commission approved only 30.
Already the bill was considered in third reading and adopted as whole, president М. Shaimiev summed up the outcomes of the debate. He said that the RT Constitution held an article, where it is written that in Tatarstan operate two state languages. Therefore it would impossible to state, that the rights of half Tatarstan people are infringed. Not everyone wants to run for the presidents. But if the person intends to be the President, only of making respect to the people of multinational republic, where the Russians and the Tatars make up equal parts he should learn both languages in order to tell the people of Tatarstan: "I am ready to be the president and hope you will support me".

On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
