Airline Lufthanza - Tatarstan's old friend

Further consolidation of cooperation between Tatarstan and the German Airline Lufthanza was discussed on December 6 in the Kazan Kremlin, where Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev received General Manager of the Airline in the Volga region, Tatarstan and Siberia Ronald Shults.

Lufthanza have been working in Tatarstan for about three years. This year it has achieved significant success, exceeding by transportation volume even 1997, with its steadily increasing volumes.

The general manager explained the purpose of his visit: today Lufthanza is working out the development strategy for the following five years and it is extremely important to lay down prospects for cooperation with the International Airport Kazan and Tatarstan as a whole - a dynamically developing region, where more and more people begin to use airservices.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev noted that today equipment installation at the Airport Kazan is underway. A new landing ground will be put into operation in the coming months. Further reconstruction of the airport building and construction of a terminal for plane services are planned.
