President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev delivered medal of Tatarstan "For valorous labor" to former main trainer of basketball team UNIKS Stanislav Eremin at the Kazan Kremlin.
The president of UNIKS, chairman of Board of RT National bank Evgeny Bogachev and RT Minister on affairs of youth, sport and tourism Marat Bariev took part in ceremony of rewarding.
According to Decree of RT President, the former instructor of UNIKS was awarded with the high award for valorous labor and worthy contribution to development and propaganda of basketball in Republic. Congratulating Stanislav Eremin, Mintimer Shaimiev expressed sincere gratitude for work, patience and huge contribution to development of Tatarstan basketball. He also reminded, that Kazan club was founded in 1991 on the basis of student's team "University". Up to this time, there was no professional basketball in Republic, President of Tatarstan noted. « After sometime, they started to speak about Tatarstan in all territory of Russian Federation, CIS and at the international level, », - he emphasized, having noted, that there is big merit of the former instructor and the president of Kazan basketball club.
Speaking about Stanislav Eremin's achievements in sport, Mintimer Shaimiev noted, that he is dozen champion of USSR, twice champion of Europe, the world champion, the prize-winner of Olympic games. Besides, as trainer Stanislav Eremin 9 times brought the team victory in championship of Russia. Under his management, Kazan has become the leader of domestic and European basketball. UNIKS has become a silver medalist three times and bronze medalist twice of Russia championships, won the Cup of Russia and Northern-European league, won League of FIBA-EUROPE. In 2005-2006, S. Eremin was recognized as the best Russian trainer of man's Super league. He is the deserved master of sport, deserved trainer of Russia, awarded with medal «Sign on honor», sign of honor "For merits in development of physical training and sport », award of Honor, a medal «In memory of 1000-anniversary of Kazan».
