First President of Russia Boris Yeltsin arrived in Tatarstan

On June 22, the first President of Russia Boris Yeltsin with a spouse arrived in Tatarstan on board of airliner which landed at the international airport "Kazan". The former head of the Russian state was met by the President of Republic Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev.

By the air - stairs of the plane, the honoured guest was met with traditional Tatar chak-chak and bread with salt. It is expected, that the first President of Russia will take part in Sabantui in Kazan which is to take place at the capital of republic on June 24. We remind, 10 years ago, in 1996, Boris Yeltsin also celebrated the Sabantui on Tatarstan soil. Participating in the holiday of a plough, he with the closed eyes by one blow with a long pole broke a clay pot and won an honourable prize.

At the airport of the first President of Russia was welcomed also by RT First Deputy Prime Minister Ravil Muratov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Culture Zilya Valeyeva, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
