Mintimer Shaimiev: “Main responsibility lies upon local government, since most difficult questions are solved in routine practice”

October 24, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev participated in the first session of the representative body of the newly formed municipality – the city of Kazan, which was staged at Kazan city Hall.

According to the head of the Republic, it is necessary today to do all to win people’s respect and trust. “We will be clearly orienting and explaining the population, of which powers do municipal and state authorities possess”, - promised Mintimer Shaimiev. Main responsibility will lie upon the local self-government bodies, since the most difficult questions are usually solved in a routine practice, he noted.
President of Tatarstan expressed his hope that executives, who will enter the administration of municipal formation of Kazan, will be hard-working people. He reminded, 50% of the committee that forms executive bodies of municipalities will be RT President’s representatives. “I believe there will be no discord, we will listen to your opinion more often. We don’t intend to impose our own conditions and somehow influence the municipal power”, - stated Mintimer Shaimiev.
