On wings of Tu-214 to 21st century

On January 10, Kazan Gorbunov Producation Association witnessed the event, marking the beginning of a new century for Tatarstan. This epithet belongs to Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev. For the first time in Russian aviation history, one plane has received three documents at once. This year Tu-214 received the legal right for unrestricted international flights. Chairman of the Interstate Air Committee T.Anodina officially handed a certificate for Tu-214 production to the Kazan aircraft builders.

At the same time the representatives of OAO "Tupolev" (Moscow) handed a certificate on this type of a plane and certificate on its "noisiness". For the first time in Russia, a medium-line plane has received documents confirming its airworthiness according to new international air requirements.

Today Tu-214 can transport 210 passengers to the distance of up to 7200 km with international level of comfort. Its efficiency is 40 per cent higher than that of Tu-154 and corresponds to the plane parameters issued by Boeing and Airbus Industry.
