October 31, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with the Governor of Perm region, Oleg Chirkunov, in his official residence at the Kazan Kremlin.

The Perm delegation arrived in Kazan on October 30. The members of the delegation studied how the Social mortgage programme is being realised in the republic, examined the results of the dilapidated housing elimination programme, visited the Interregional ambulance care and diagnostic centre, Idea technopark, met with the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, visited the newly-opened entertainment complex “Riviera”.

Mintimer Shaimiev thanked the Perm guests for deciding to learn Tatarstan’s experience in various fields.
Opening journalists’ questions, the RT President marked that due to the similarity of the two regions the turnover between Perm region and Tatarstan surpassed 3 bln rubles.

Mintimer Shaimiev underlined that the political will demonstrated in establishing cooperation between Tatarstan and Perm region opens new opportunities for different contacts. “It is not the case when ways of development of mutually-beneficial cooperation should be found in one or two directions, the head of the republic expressed his opinion. Perm region is a very rich region, it boasts significant raw resources, industrial and scientific potential”.
