Tatarstan President met with Finnish Delegation

December 4, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev received a delegation of the Republic of Finland. The members of the delegations are Esko AHO, President of the Finnish National Fund for Research and Development Sitra, Harry HELENIUS, Ambassador of Finland in the Russian Federation, Sakari TAMMINEN, CEO and President of Ruukki Oyj, Okan DAHER, Chairman of the Finnish Tatar community, Maaret HEISKARI, Director of the Russia Programme of the Finnish National Fund for Research and Development Sitra, etc.

Greeting the guests, the head of Tatarstan marked that the republic of Finland is one of the leading countries of the world and occupies a decent place in European politics.
“The credit for it should be given to your multinational people and state authority. You highly appreciate your history and people’s friendship. This is a basis for your success. Such approach creates a basis for creative work”, the RT President said and also marked that Finland and Tatarstan are similar.
