Mintimer Shaimiev met with Dutch architect Erick van Egeraat

December 4, the Kazan Kremlin, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Mr. Erich van Egeraat, a Dutch architect, the owner of Erick van Egeraat associated architects.

Taking part in the meeting were State Advisor of the RT President on international issues – Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Timur Akulov, the Mayor of Kazan, Mr. Ilsur Metshin, officials of the RT Construction, Architecture and Housing Ministry.
The Dutch architect was invited to the capital of Tatarstan by the President of the republic. The head of Tatarstan thanked the guest for accepting the invitation and finding time to visit the city. Mintimer Shaimiev told the architect about the programme of dilapidated housing liquidation that has no parallels in Russia and allowed to improve living conditions of 37 thousand families. He also noted that the city is actively growing and developing today.
Mr. Egeraat had been in Kazan just for several hours but what he saw impressed him, he said. The architect was amazed at the colossal capacity of construction that allowed to transform the city. At the same time he marked that there are a lot of unused opportunities.
