Mintimer Shaimiev awarded Tatarstan State Prizes for 2006 in the sphere of science and technics

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev presented State Prizes in the sphere of science and technics for 2006. The celebration of the honorary laureates was held in the official residence of the head of the republic in Kazan Kremlin.

"I am glad to meet people who are in avant-garde of our progress before New Year , - Mintimer Shaimiev noted, opening the meeting. - In the next years, the years of integration into world economy, the role of science and technics will increase ever more. The knowledge we can receive in our state was always competitive ".

The head of the republic named the laureates of RT State premium the "winners", and congratulated them personally, on behalf of the State Council and the Government of Tatarstan. State premiums of Republic of Tatarstan of 2006 in the field of science and technics and the titles of winners are appropriated for significant contribution to development of humanitarian, natural and engineering science, development and introduction of essentially new technologies, outstanding industrial results received on the basis of introduction of achievements of science and technology.

Specialists of such major industrial enteprises as “Tatneft-regions”, “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”, “Shipbuilding plant named after Sergo” received the prizes.

Head of RT President Apparatus Yury Kamaltynov, the first vice Prime Minister Ravil Muratov, vice-chairman of RT State Council Rimma Ratnikova, RT minister of education and science Rais Shaikhelislamov took part in the ceremony.
