“Siemens” company could enhance its presence in Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev regards

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with representatives of “Siemens” company in Kazan Kremlin on February 14. Cooperation perspectives with German partners were discussed at the meeting.

President of “Siemens” company in Russia, vice-president of “Siemens AG” Dietrich Meller, vice-president, director of “Automatization machinery and drive” department Andreas Kalisch, representatives of departments of the concern, Prime minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, RT minister of economy and industry Boris Pavlov, RT minister of trade and external economic cooperation Hafiz Salikhov, RT minister of healthcare Kamil Zyatdinov, director of External links department at RT president Timur Akulov took part in the meeting.

First Kazan heat stations were equipped with Siemens power machinery in 90ies. Service center of “Siemens” medical equipment has been working in the republic since January 2007.

President of Tatarstan thanked representatives of “Siemens” for long-term collaboration, but considered it insufficient at present, taking into consideration opportunities, recognition and prestige of the company. ‘It seems to me that we don’t use your capacities for the needs of Tatarstan industry to the fullest. But at the same time you are present in almost all the major industrial enterprises, such as “Kazanorgsintez”, “Kamaz”, “TAIF”,’ head of the republic added.

Dietrich Meller noted, that “Siemens” company is going to integrate into local industry. Chances of creating joint engineering companies working in the field of high-tech and projecting were discussed at the meeting.

According to the words of Boris Pavlov, the main result of the meeting was that effective cooperation with German concern gained approval of Tatarstan President.
