Mintimer Shaimiev, ‘Russian regions should benefit at good relations between Russia and Germany’

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev opened investment forum “Tatarstan strategy in trade and investments. The role of Saxony in the process”.

Prime Minister of Saxony Georg Millbrandt, the members of Tatarstan official delegation – heads of ministries and departments, heads of industrial enterprises, representatives of German business circles and participants of specialized international exhibitions which opened in Leipzig.

Mintimer Shaimiev informed, that the emphasis in the republic is laid on petrochemistry and oil-refinery without increase of oil production. The head of the republic also described investment opportunities of “Alabuga” special economic zone. ‘We are going to support automobile-building branch on the state level’. Mintimer Shaimiev expressed hope that the forum will be mutually useful and beneficial for representatives of both Saxony and Tatarstan.

RT minister of trade and external economic cooperation Hafiz Salikhov reported about investment potential of the republic in details.

Several agreements were signed between representatives of Tatarstan and German business circels in presence of Mintimer Shaimiev and Georg Millbrandt.

‘Good relations established between Russia and Germany and Russian regions should benefit at it and develop cooperation,’ the leader of Tatarstan expressed opinion.
