Tatarstan President and Prime Minister of Saxony signed a communiqué in Dresden

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and Prime-minister of Saxony Georg Millbrandt signed a Communiqué as a result of a two-sided meeting.

The official meeting of Georg Millbrandt and Tatarstan President took place in the negotiations hall of Saxony State Chancellery. Prime minister of Saxony noted that the 2 regions have many things in common to widen the cooperation.

The sides signed a Communiqué as a result of a business trip of Mintimer Shaimiev in Saxony and his meeting with the head of Eastern German region. It is noted in the document that the sides discussed urgent issues of perspective directions of mutually beneficial cooperation between Saxony and Republic of Tatarstan.

The following intentions of the sides are outlined in the communiqué: to widen cooperation in economic field, machine building, petrochemistry, biotechnologies, bank sphere, to support collaboration in scientific-educational field of Kazan State University and Leipzig University. Mintimer Shaimiev traditionally left a message in the Book for Honorary visitors of State Chancellery.
