Mintimer Shaimiev awarded Aleksey Gordeev with medal

Meeting of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev with RT minister of Agriculture Aleksey Gordeev has been held in Kazan Kremlin on May 11. RT deputy Prime Minster Ravil Muratov and Vice-Premier – RT Minister of Agriculture Marat Akhmetov also took part in the meeting.

After the meeting Mintimer Shaimiev handed over RT State Award – the medal for “Worthy labour” to the federal minister. Tatarstan President commented his decision to journalists. He pointed out that Aleksey Gordeev had a responsible task to lead one of the most difficult fields of the country economy. He added that the present priority national project “Development of agroindustrial complex” appeared thanks to efforts of the minister.

Aleksey Gordeev indicated that Tatarstan demonstrates elements of the XXI century agriculture. “I mean large manufactures with high efficiency and support of farmers’ households – small business,” he explained.

“To asses the Republic of Tatarstan – it can be called the largest agricultural region of the country, - the federal minister continued. – Cattle-breeding has been preserved; it is one of the most important elements”. 17 000 square meters of housing are being exploited within the framework of the national project for 127 young experts and families in the countryside,” he added.
